Adams School students have the opportunity to participate in several extracurricular sports during the school year. The Wildcat is the school mascot. Adams School is a member of the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association. The SIJHSAA is one of two governing bodies in the State of Illinois for junior high sports. Athletic opportunities include baseball, softball, cross country, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and track and field.
Adams School is a member of the Quad County Athletic Conference (QCAC). Schools in the QCAC include: Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC), Zeigler-Royalton, Giant City, DeSoto, St. Andrew, Elverado, Pinckneyville 204, Tamaroa, and St. Bruno.
