Reading Intervention

Our Reading Specialists work with the other Specialists in Marion Unit 2 to screen all students in grades K-5 three times throughout the school year in reading fluency and reading comprehension.  They also work with classroom teachers to closely monitor students' grades and classroom performance.  If a student falls below established expectations throughout the year, our Reading Specialists provide additional instruction to support their learning.  This instruction does not replace their classroom instruction but provides another layer of support for the student.  Our Reading Specialists use research-based interventions that focus on the needs of their students.  This more individualized instruction takes place within a small group setting in the Specialist's classroom and progress monitoring occurs weekly to help measure each students' progress.  Please use the links below to learn more about the instruction that occurs at each grade level.
